Issue 02 will be published online October 20th: http://lungpoetry.com.

Out of over 600 submissions I believe I’ve found the perfect 30 voices to represent our vision for this issue. This does not mean the countless others were not wonderful works of poetry. It simply means they did not fit Issue 02. That was a wild month of reading and my eyes are sore, but it’s a good sore. I was extremely humbled by the sheer amount of contributions and warm notes shared by everyone that emailed me. Thanks again and be sure keep submitting for Issue 03.
I will now be separating myself from the inbox for a couple weeks, so don’t fret if I don’t get back to you for a while. I need the time off to gather my thoughts for Issue 03 (December release) and where I want to go with it.
Enjoy Issue 02 next week and please, keep promoting Lung and other small presses, we count on your voice to stay alive!

I was one of the fatalities, but I can’t wait to read this issue. I loved the first issue! See you on the 20th!
The cover art is stunning. The quality of your online publishing is amazing. This really brings online publishing to a new level. Most importantly, the poetry within Lung merits the beautiful layout of this magazine.
I had a sneak peek today. This second issue is superior to the first issue in my opinion. Stay tuned for for some heavy, heavy words. Pretty uncomfortable but very enjoyable verse.
Who is the artist that did the cover, it’s amazing?! The guts of the journal are equally as beautiful by the way.
Her name is, Mamzelle Mamath. She’s a French artist and needless to say, absolutely amazing! I was so humbled when she agreed to contribute. I’m a lucky, lucky dude.
Please be sure to go visit her and let her know how awesome she is:

I think the magazine has thus far produced two thoughtful, cohesive issues. I love the artwork as well as the poetry and look forward to future issues of Lung. Great job all around!
Thanks Parker!
Great name by the way, it’s my son’s name.
Alveraz,
Big congrats on Issue! I enjoyed everything, but then I enjoy diversity. Such a good selection of voices from all kinds of places, moods, perspectives. Most enjoyable were the poems by Lady Mariposa, Marco Dominguez and Heidi Baker. Subjective, yes, but this work moved me most.
Congratulations to all the poets. Keep on.
And you, Alveraz, keep up the good fight. I hope you are finding enough time and space for your own work.
Be well.
Best,
Christopher Woods
Thanks Chris, and big thanks for pointing out what parts you enjoyed. Hearing specifics will help me grow as an editor. As for my own work, I’m getting it done for sure.
Thanks again!
The piece by Jeanann Verlee is amazing.
Nicely put together issue, although “Oral Sex at Seven” really made me squirm.
Fab second issue of Lung! I enjoyed the poetry of Christine Bavone and Marco Dominguez the most. Both are very talented and poems are excellent.
